SEO for dentists

A patient with a cracked tooth searches once, taps the first practice with good reviews and a phone number, and books. If your practice is not in that map pack, that patient is now someone else’s. Dental SEO is the work of putting the practice there for every treatment you offer, in every neighborhood you draw from.

6,816 clicks

Peak Endurance, a sports clinic, Sep 2023 to May 2024, from 482,378 impressions. Their Search Console.

We have done this for physical therapy and men’s health clinics with the same pattern: one clinic, a fixed catchment, a list of treatments people search for by name. The pages, the profile and the reviews do most of the work.

Searches we build for, with the place name your customers use:

  • emergency dentist near me
  • dental implants [neighborhood]
  • invisalign cost [city]
  • teeth whitening [neighborhood]

What stops dentists getting enquiries

Three problems we find on nearly every dentist website we audit, and what we do about each.

  1. One page for all treatments

Most dental sites list twelve treatments on one Services page. Google ranks a page for one thing, so the practice ranks for none of them. Each treatment needs its own page written for what patients ask.

  2. A profile nobody maintains

The Google Business Profile has the wrong hours, three photos from opening day and a category of Dentist with no services listed. The map pack is decided mostly by that profile.

  3. Reviews that stopped in 2023

Google weighs recent reviews. A practice with 80 reviews and none this year loses to one with 40 and five last month.

  • A dentist in scrubs holding a tablet, with a map showing three clinic locations across a city

What you get each month

  • A treatment page written or rewritten each month, starting with the highest-value ones (implants, orthodontics, cosmetic)
  • Google Business Profile: services, hours, weekly posts, photo uploads, Q&A answered
  • Review requests set up with the front desk, and every review replied to
  • Citations on dental directories and local listings, matched to the exact practice name and address
  • Technical fixes: booking links, speed, schema for the practice and each dentist
  • Monthly report from Search Console with the treatment searches you now appear for

How pricing works

Most single-location practices fit Growth. A practice with two or more locations, or one competing in a city center, usually needs Scale. We scope the package on a call and send a written quote before anything starts. The full list of work in each is on the packages page, and the affordable SEO service page explains why the price is lower than a local agency.

Results from real clients

Every number below is from the client’s own Google Search Console, for the period shown. Impressions are how often the site appeared; clicks are people who arrived. What each visit is worth is your sales process, not ours, so these are the visits we can prove rather than a conversion figure we cannot.

Questions dentists ask us

How long until a dental practice ranks in the map pack?

Profile and citation work shows within four to eight weeks. Treatment pages take three to six months against established competitors. Our published client results show the pace over periods from three months to a year.

Can you work with our existing dental website?

Yes, on any platform. If the site is on a dental template that cannot be edited, we say so in the free audit and quote a rebuild separately.

Do you write the treatment pages?

Yes. Pages are drafted from the searches and from your own answers to a short questionnaire, then sent to the dentist for clinical review before they go live.

Is dental SEO different from country to country?

The searches differ (health fund versus insurance, suburb versus zip code) and the directories differ. The method is the same everywhere, and we adjust the pages to how patients in your country search.
