How the numbers were measured
Search Console is Google’s own record of how often a site appeared in results and how often it was clicked. It cannot be edited by us or by the client. Each figure above is the Performance report for the site over the period shown, with the comparison against the period of the same length before it.
Average position is the mean rank across every query the site appeared for, so it moves slowly and is dragged down by new pages that start at the bottom. Rising impressions with a flat average position usually means the site is appearing for many more searches than before.
