Starting the SEO work when the storm arrives
Nothing in search responds in a week. The work has to be done in the quiet season to pay in the busy one.
Guide
Roofing demand does not arrive evenly. It arrives in the week after weather, and in that week the searches multiply and everybody in the trade is fighting for the same calls. The firms that take those calls are not the ones who started work that week; they are the ones whose profile, reviews and pages were already in place when the wind came.
Free to read, in the order it pays to do it. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to download.
The second thing that shapes the trade is insurance. A large share of roofing searches are really claim questions: whether the damage is covered, what the insurer needs, whether to claim at all. A roofer who answers those gets the customer before the loss adjuster has been out.
Everything else is the same problem every service area business has, and it starts with a profile that is set up wrong.
These are the shapes the searches take. The words in brackets are whatever the searcher puts there, which is usually a town, a neighbourhood or a brand.
Hide the address, declare the counties and towns you genuinely reach. This takes ten minutes and it cannot be done usefully in the middle of a surge because nothing Google does responds that fast.
What to do in the first hour, what to photograph for the insurer, how fast you can make it safe. Written and live before the weather, not published afterwards.
What is usually covered, what is usually not, what an adjuster looks for, and whether a claim is worth making for the size of damage they have. This is the content the whole trade avoids and it earns trust immediately.
Tile, slate, flat, metal, repair against full replacement, gutters, chimney flashing. People search the material and the job, and one roofing services page competes for none of them.
Before and after, the town, the material, the problem you found when you got up there. It is the most convincing content in the trade and it is already on somebody’s phone.
Roofing customers are relieved and grateful at handover and unreachable a month later. Reviews that name the town and the job carry the most weight.
Public liability cover, workmanship guarantee length, what it excludes. A customer choosing between three quotes reads this before they read anything about quality.
Pitch, access, scaffolding, material, whether the decking is sound. No numbers needed. Customers search cost relentlessly in this trade and the honest explanation wins the call.
Nothing in search responds in a week. The work has to be done in the quiet season to pay in the busy one.
Half the urgent searches in the trade are claim questions and most roofing sites answer none of them.
Material and job type are separate searches. One page cannot hold slate, flat roofs and emergency repair.
Dilutes you everywhere. Better to own three towns than to be invisible across thirty.
Rankings are not the measure. These are, and all of them come from accounts in your own name rather than from a report you have to take on trust.
Everything above is work you can do without hiring anybody, and the profile half of it is worth doing whatever else you decide. If you want it done for you, this is the service that covers it, and we scope it on a call before anything starts.
In the quiet season. Search does not respond in the week you need it to, so the profile, reviews and pages have to exist before the weather that creates the demand.
The honest version is. Explaining what is covered, what to photograph and whether a claim is worth making earns the call. The version that implies everybody should claim damages the trust it needs.
The ones you genuinely travel to, with a real finished roof on each page. Three towns you can evidence beats thirty you cannot.
More, because the customer cannot inspect the work. They are buying a promise about something they will never climb up to see, so what previous customers say is most of the decision.
